North West Cricket (NWC) has taken decisive action by suspending Head Coach Monty Jacobs pending the outcome of an independent investigation. This move comes as a response to undisclosed accusations against Jacobs, details of which are expected to be revealed through an independent inquiry led by an appointed lawyer.
In light of this suspension, Craig Alexander, the assistant coach, has been appointed as the interim head coach to steer the team during this turbulent period. However, NWC has refrained from commenting further on the nature of the allegations against Jacobs, advising against speculation until the investigation reaches its conclusion.

What adds complexity to this situation is the recent history involving Jacobs. The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation, and Arbitration (CCMA) ruled in May on the unfair dismissal of Jacobs and ordered NWC to reinstate him until the natural expiration of his contract on April 30, 2023. Furthermore, the Commissioner mandated compensation equal to the salary Jacobs lost during the period following his dismissal earlier in the year.
