St Mary’s Waverly School, student Kerry Grundlingh has been selected to represent Rowing South Africa at the World Rowing Under 19 Championships to be held in Varese, Italy, from 27 to 31 July 2022.
St Mary’s, head rowing coach, Caitlin Dace, has been selected as head coach of the South African U19 rowing team. Six girls and eight boys have been selected for this team.

About the event:
The top event for the year for Under 19 rowers is the World Rowing Under 19 Championships (WRU19CH). The championships usually takes place in July and attract up to 1000 rowers from around the world. In 2022 the WRU23CH and the WRU19CH will be a combined event.
