Kearsney College is set to once again be welcoming 12 top South African rugby schools to the Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival in from 14 April.
Some of the country’s top teams will once again be up at Kearsney this Easter to thrill fans of schoolboy rugby.
The last two editions of the Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. 2020 would have been the 13th edition of the Festival.
The festival brings is the perfect place this Easter to bring if you are looking for a family to experience the excitement and fun at one of SA’s great schoolboy rugby festivals.
With numerous vendors and an amazing KidZone, the festival provides a great day out for all.
Games will be live streamed on the SuperSport Schools app.

Participating Schools:
Umhlali Preparatory School, Highbury Preparatory School, Hillcrest Primary School, Durban High School, Hoërskool Waterkloof, Westville Boys’ High School, HNK / Northern Cape High School / Hoërskool Noord Kaap Hoër Landbouskool Marlow, Selborne College, Glenwood High School Pretoria Boys High School, Hoërskool Framesby, Hoërskool Monument High.
The Sharks and Sharks Academy scouts will once again be present at the festival tp watch all three days of play over the Easter weekend.
The Academy will offer bursaries to selected players from the festival.
One of the players to have come through this bursary system is current Sharks and Springbok fullback Aphelele Fassi, who starred at the festival for Dale College (2017).
In keeping with the festival’s tradition, four primary school teams will be offered the opportunity to participate, providing young players with the excitement and challenges of playing on a full-size field in front of large crowds.
This year Umhlali Preparatory, Hillcrest Primary and High bury Preparatory Schools will each face the KZN Rugby Union’s Ibutho-Mark Godefroy Under-13 team to open each day’s play.
