The driver of the KES Easter Festival this year is to ensure participating teams can again benefit from the joy of showcasing their skills. As life returns to a semblance of past normality.
The 2022 KES Easter festival, sponsored by Standard Bank, will take place from 14 to 18 April.
Founded in 2002 as part of the School`s Centenary celebrations the festival was initially planned as a once-off event.
The success of the maiden festival influenced the school to incorporate as a key component of the annual sporting calendar.
The festival has a unique family flavour and is considered to be an annual pilgrimage for past pupils and friends of the school.
Senior rugby and hockey teams, as well as enthusiastic primary school teams, will showcase their sporting skills over three days.
A total of 39 teams will participate in the festival this year providing visitors with a feast of top-class sport.

Lynn Dale event organizer said the festival was adopted by the school`s alumni as an annual pilgrimage to visit their alma mater.
The old boy community are a predominant contributor to the significant spectator numbers each year at the festival.
“The `family flavor` is a bi-product of the old boy network who play a critical role in supporting the school long after their departure.
“The term `Red Army` is synonymous with the school`s supporters. Who don supporters apparel as a token of the family ethos,” expresses Dale.
The essence of the festival is to provide the players with the opportunity to showcase their skills. Without the hindrance of the typical pressures that so often play out in the normal league season.
The recipe of `Primary Schools Rugby`, `Senior Schools Rugby and Hockey`, all three played on immediate adjacent fields / Astro will remain the overriding convenience attraction.
“Covid rules dependent, the offering of a variety of food and refreshment options will be tailored accordingly,” assured Dale.
For the safety of all guests, the school will comply with whatever protocols legislated by the Department of Education.
